You can now get £100 statement credit when you spend £600 or more on Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) properties before 14th July 2025.
This offer is only for those who have been targeted with the offer. If you can’t see the offer and you have multiple cards, make sure you check all of them, as the targeted offers are different for each. You must also register for this offer to get the discount. You can easily do this by going to your AMEX app’s ‘Offers’ section or online.
Leading Hotels of the World is one of the largest luxury hotel collections, featuring dozens of handpicked independent luxury hotels and resorts. There are plenty of hotels to choose from. Some of the London options include Althoff St. James´s Hotel & Club, The Ritz and L’oscar.
Things to Note:

Kenya Airways to Launch Gatwick Flights
Kenya Airways has announced it will expand its UK network with a new direct flight route three times per week between Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and London Gatwick Airport. This service will complement the daily flights to Heathrow, bringing the total weekly Kenya Airways flights to the UK to ten.
Flight times will be as follows:
Flight | Route | Day(s) | Departure Time | Arrival Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
KQ108 | Nairobi to Gatwick | Wednesday | 23:45 | 06:55 |
KQ108 | Nairobi to Gatwick | Friday & Sunday | 23:40 | 06:50 |
KQ109 | Gatwick to Nairobi | Monday | 12:10 | 23:05 |
KQ109 | Gatwick to Nairobi | Thursday | 11:00 | 21:55 |
KQ109 | Gatwick to Nairobi | Saturday | 12:25 | 23:20 |
The route will be operated by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, featuring 30 Business Class seats and 204 Economy seats.
Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Allan Kilavuka described the new route as “just the beginning” of the airline’s expansion plans for the UK market:
“The United Kingdom is essential and strategic for Kenya Airways and Kenya. It provides a gateway for trade, tourism, education, business, leisure travel, and diaspora connections. We are excited to add Gatwick Airport to our expansive network as it means that KQ guests now have more options in and out of the UK and a convenient schedule that suits their travel preferences.”
Earn and Redeem Virgin Points with Kenya Airways
Kenya Airways is part of the SkyTeam Alliance. If Virgin is your chosen SkyTeam loyalty programme, you can opt to earn and redeem Virgin Points on these flights (as long as you enter your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club number at check-out). You can also earn tier points when flying with Kenya Airways, including:
- 25 for Economy
- 75 for Business Class
You can read more about Virgin’s partnership with Kenya Airways here >>>
You can also opt to earn points with other airlines in the SkyTeam alliance instead.
Fares
Flights are now available for booking via the Kenya Airways website. I can see plenty of Business Class fares from Gatwick around the £1,741 mark (depending on the flexibility). Flying from Heathrow is often slightly more expensive, though not always, so it’s worth checking both options. Economy Class fares average around £514.
