Business class offers for 2 people
Malaysia Airlines has launched a new sale which is for 2 people travelling together and has some very good prices. You must book by 21 May 2018 but you can travel until 31 March 2019. The minimum stay is 5 days. Malaysia are members of oneworld so of course, you will earn both tier points and Avios for your BA Executive account. The prices are pretty good for a decent airline although they are all via Kuala Lumpur so it will be a longer journey than normal for places like Singapore or Bangkok where you could fly direct but at a much higher price. Malaysia now use the A350 on the London route most of the time which has good business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration with plenty of storage space. Just make sure you check the type when you are booking as they sometimes also use an A380 for one flight a day which has the older seats in 2-2-2.
Fares start for 2 people travelling together from London in business class return from:
- Langkawi £3,240
- Penang £3,245
- Manila £3,380
- Bali £3,390
- Phuket £3,395
- Singapore £3,405
- Bangkok £3,405
- Sydney £4,445
- Auckland £4,509
You can book on Malaysia Airlines own website using the code: FORTWO
Australia from London in business class for £2100
After my feature on business class flights to Australia last week, another offer has popped up. It is not as good as the Garuda option but Asiana Airlines are also a 5* airline. The connection is through Seoul airport which may be a nicer experience than routeing through Jakarta.
Asiana Airlines are part of Star Alliance and are rated 5* by Sky Trax. You can obviously credit miles to any Star Alliance airline but you may wish to choose Singapore Airlines if you want to have the added benefit of being able to redeem on Virgin Atlantic.
Asiana uses an A350 and then a B777 on the London to Sydney route with a connection via Seoul, their home base. This features their latest business class, Smartium. These are fully flat and are configured in 1-2-1 in a slightly staggered layout. This gives more privacy except in the middle ‘honeymoon seats’. The layout alternates so you would be OK in the middle seats that are further apart if you are not travelling as a couple. Food, drink and service are good but not at the levels of the likes of Qatar etc.
You must book by 31 May 2018 and fly from 1 July until 31 August 2018.
The offer is available through Trailfinders.
Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi with direct business class flights from £2295pp
Etihad has an Etihad holidays offer at the moment. These are mainly economy class deals but they have some good value options from £4o5 per person for 3 nights if you don’t mind economy for a shortish flight. However, they do have a reasonable business class deal. The offer is for business class flights with Etihad and 3 nights half board at the Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi. At the moment the cheapest direct flights to Abu Dhabi are around £1950. You can fly indirect with Turkish via Istanbul for £1237 but that may not be everybody’s cup of tea. Etihad regularly have sale prices of around £1500 so that is worth bearing in mind before deciding to buy this offer.
I flew on Etihad last year in business class and thought it was an excellent seat with great food and wine although the service was variable.
The offers must be booked by 31 May 2018. The offers can be found on Etihad holidays here.
