Cape Town business class offers
Amsterdam is the airport that keeps giving at the moment with more offers but this time to Cape Town.
Qatar Airways
There are offers on both BA and Qatar although at different times so much will depend on when you want to go. The Qatar offer is better in terms of weather as it is the start of the South African spring. Personally I would go for Qatar on this route if the weather is not a factor due to the wonderful onboard Qatar service and 560 Tier Points you would get no including positioning flights. The seats are the old B777 seats which are not ideal for solo travellers in a 2-2-2 configuration but perfect for a couple. Although old, the seats are very wide and comfortable in my experience.
The rules:
- Must be bought by 31 August 2018
- Must be booked 90 days in advance
- Minimum stay 3 days
- Travel until 15 December 2018
- Free Doha stopover
- Cancellable and changeable for a fee
British Airways
The BA tickets start from £1570 and would get you 400 tier points not including positioning. You would have to fly back to London to pick up the flight at Heathrow to Cape Town but at least then it is non stop allowing for more sleeping time than Qatar. BA uses a fairly old B747 on Cape Town although the B747s are being gradually redone or retired.
The rules are as follows:
- Travel dates: 1 June – 15 September 2018 or 16 April – 31 May 2019
- 60 days advance reservations
- Minimum stay a Saturday night
- Non refundable but changeable for a fee
You can search for the fares on British Airways.
