If you have always wanted to experience business class or fly on a B787 Dreamliner, Air France will be using their new B787 between London and Paris for a short period this year. It was originally due to end the service on 25 March but this has now been extended until 28th October 2017. This will allow you to discover Air France’s updated long haul business class product from £270 return.
The B787 has the same reverse herringbone style seating as American, Cathay, Qatar and Finnair. This allows every passenger to have direct aisle access as well as a fully flat-bed.
Here is the B777 version which gives you a good idea of what to expect.
Air France’s first London to Paris Dreamliner flight will start on Monday 6th February.
The Lounge and special perks for B787 customers
The flights will depart from Heathrow Terminal 4 and gives you access to the Sky Team lounge. Although it is a little while since I have visited this lounge, reviews suggest that it is still as good as my last visit. It has a light, modern feel with a living wall of plants. There is also a good selection of drinks and buffet food.
If you want to relax there is a yoga room, individual relax rooms (first come, first served basis), and massage chairs. The only downside is that there is no Champagne for business class passengers but they do have an impressive wine bar area with a good selection of decent wines and spirits. You can do a virtual tour of the lounge here.
All passengers flying on the B787 from London will also be given a special booklet at check in with exclusive shopping discounts.
Flights to Paris
The LHR-CDG offer flights will operate daily, except for Wednesdays.
Prices are from £78 in Economy Class or £270 in Business Class return, including tax.
The flights that you need to book for the B787 are the following (bit of an early start I’m afraid)
LHR-CDG AF1681 Departs 0940 Arrives 1155
CDG-LHR AF1680 Departs 0725 Arrives 0740
You can combine them with a different aircraft one way if you don’t fancy the early start but that will cost slightly more. The special promotion page is here.
For the aviation enthusiasts reading you may enjoy this video of one of the inaugural flights which features the French equivalent of the Red Arrows, the Patrouille de France, flying along side the B787 as well as a look at the interior of the aircraft in all classes.
Look out for my trip report in early March.
