Jet Blue deal to Boston
JetBlue launched its service from Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) to London’s Gatwick Airport (LGW) this week on Thursday.
Last year, JetBlue launched its first-ever transatlantic service from New York-JFK to both Heathrow and Gatwick. The carrier plans to grow its transatlantic presence this year with new service from Boston Logan to London’s Heathrow Airport, launching on 20 September 2022, and an additional Gatwick departure from New York starting 29 October 2022. Between JetBlue’s New York and Boston focus cities, the airline will offer five daily flights between the U.S. and the U.K. by October.
“Our London service from New York has been an incredible success and we are thrilled to finally bring this highly anticipated service to our Boston customers, a route that has long suffered from high fares by legacy carriers,” said Robin Hayes, chief executive officer, JetBlue. “As Boston’s largest carrier, adding this nonstop service to Gatwick will only make us more relevant in our New England focus city and introduce JetBlue to a largely unserved market.”
JetBlue offers an enhanced airport experience at Gatwick with Premium Security available to select JetBlue customers. The airline’s Even More® Speed option is now automatically included for Mint® customers, TrueBlue Mosaic® customers and Mosaic companions traveling on the same reservation, customers who have purchased a Blue Extra fare and for customers who have purchased an Even More Space seat.

JetBlue flights between the U.S. and London are scheduled to operate using the Airbus A321LR aircraft with 24 Mint suites.
There is a special offer for the launch with fares from £1717 return in Mint (business) class. I can only see these fares available in December, but it’s a great time to visit the US if you like Christmas as they definitely go all out for the holidays.
There are a few rules:

- Outbound – permitted Tue/Wed/Thu/Sat on each transatlantic sector.
- inbound – permitted Mon/Tue/Wed/Sun on each transatlantic sector.
- Minimum Stay – 7 nights
- Book: Minimum 120 days before departure

Delta trial free Wifi
Delta One on B767-400I wrote last week about how you can now get free Wifi for messaging on Iberia if you are a member of Iberia Plus. Now Delta is trying out free Wifi as a trial. I have always predicted that airlines would eventually go the same way as hotels and not charge for Wi-Fi. I can’t remember the last time I paid for Wifi in a hotel.
Delta Air Lines is testing free Wi-Fi on certain flights this summer as part of its long-time plan to give free internet onboard. The idea was first mooted in 2018, but since then, little has happened, although the CEO warned it could take several years.
The idea is to test how the WiFi would perform as it’s likely that more people would use it if it was free, which could affect the speed and quality of the service.
Delta has had issues with its Wifi speed in the past but has been working with a new provider Viasat, for high-speed satellite-based connections. Presumably, this has now allowed Delta to have robust enough Wifi to trial a free service.
Hilton offer – 4 for 3 on more luxury brands
Conrad Koh SamuiHilton has an offer on for 4 nights for the price of 3 on its luxury brands – Conrad, LXR and Waldorf Astoria. The offers are valid for stays booked and completed by 31st March 2023. There are two ways to book the offer. Firstly you can book it through our agents GTC who can offer the free night and extra perks through the Hilton Impressario. This means you still get your Hilton Honors points and perks. The extra perks are:
- upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
- Complimentary breakfast for two daily for the duration of the stay
- $100 / €85 equivalent food & beverage credit
- Early check-in / late check-out, subject to availability
- Double Hilton Honors points

Waldorf Astoria BangkokHowever, a few hotels don’t participate in Hilton Impressario, such as the Conrad Las Vegas, but you can still book these on the offer with Hilton direct. The Impressario offer also doesn’t include the full range of hotels within the luxury brands, but the Hilton website offer has more hotels in Asia. This includes some of my favourite hotels, including Conrad Tokyo, Conrad Koh Samui, and Waldorf Astoria in Bangkok.
It doesn’t say when the offer is valid until in the terms and conditions so it could be hotel dependent.

I am nearly 5 hours through a 6.5 hour EasyJet delay at BIO right now, but I’m pretty sure the Hilton deal has a typo that made me giggle…it should be 4 for the price of 3, right? 😀

As usual with Hilton, they give with one hand and steal your wallet with the other while you aren’t looking.
On face value this seems great however its on the Best available rate reservation price which usually isn’t anywhere near the best rate, particularly if you are a HH member.
Seems like an incentive to bring new customers into the brand by making the high end hotel prices a little more palatable.
I don’t think you can call it stealing your wallet just because it’s based on a flexible rate. Yes it’s not the cheapest price available but overall wity the free night it is still a saving. I personally prefer flexible rates still given the fact that Covid is still around and there is a lot of flight cancellations still happening but obviously some people are happy with the cheaper advance rates.
