Qatar sale extended & QSuites launch confirmed from London
I wrote about the latest Qatar sale in this article, which was due to end yesterday, 16 June. Qatar have announced that they have extended the sale for a further 3 days until 19 June 2017. Whilst the UK prices aren’t overly exciting, they are still better than the standard pricing. The real bargains come from the ex EU flights which start from around £1120 business class return to Asia. You can find a list of all the best bargains and links to the Qatar sale pages here.
The new Qsuites business class suite is due to launch on 24th June to London and will feature on the following flights:
QR7 Doha to London departing 06:35 arriving 12:00
QR8 London to Doha departing 16:00 arriving 00:45 (+1 day)
You can tell if your flight has the Qsuites by the seat map. So far they do not seem to have changed the seat maps for the winter schedule, probably as it is too far in advance.
You can read more about the Qsuites in this article.
BA Club World US holidays sale
BA have launched a new sale bookable until 23,59 on 19 June 2017 for luxury Club World holidays to the US and Canada. There are some interesting flight plus car offers as well as flights plus hotel. If you collect Avios it can be worth booking a holiday rather than flight and hotel separately as you earn extra Avios. You will get 2 Avios per £1 for the holiday booking as well as the Avios you earn from the flights and from your BA Amex. The other advantage is that you don’t have to pay in full at the time of booking, just a deposit.
The holidays are for travel as follows:
01 July – 31 August 2017: New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Oakland, Calgary, and Mexico city.
21 November – 28 November 2017: New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Oakland, Calgary, and Mexico city.
24 August – 12 October 2017: Orlando only.
18 December – 02 January 2018: New York only.
Flight + Hotel offers – prices per person based on 2 sharing with flights and hotel
Here is a selection of some of the 5* hotel offers but there are also a selection of cheaper 4* hotels:
New York
5* hotels start at £1363 for the Intercontinental Barclay and include the Conrad where I stayed (review here) from £1467, both for 3 nights.
Orlando
5* hotels start at £1672 staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek for 7 nights.
Los Angeles
5* hotels start at £2082 for the Hyatt Regency Huntingdon Beach for 5 nights. They also feature the Sixty Hotel Beverly Hills where I stayed last year but I think it is overpriced at £3086 for 5 nights in a 4* boutique hotel.
Las Vegas
5* hotel prices start from £1715 for the Mandalay Bay Hotel for 3 nights.
Flights plus car – cheaper than flight only?
There are also bargains to be had by booking a car with your flights, even if you don’t need it, it may still work out cheaper than flight only. Plus you will earn Avios on the Avis booking too as well as the flights and the BA Holidays Avios! Here is an example of some of the offers:
Orlando from £1,529 pp
Los Angeles from £1,649 pp
Oakland from £1,679 pp
Calgary from £1,729 pp
There is also an additional £50 off per booking made by 21 June 2017 for travel completed before 21 October 2017. Minimum spend of £1,450 per booking applies. This applies to the following destinations as follows: USA, Canada, Nice, Pisa, Marseille, Malaga, Toulouse, Faro, Barcelona, Rome, Larnaca, Athens, Geneva, Milan, Lisbon, Naples (Italy), Bordeaux, Catania, Alicante, Dublin, Edinburgh, Florence.
