Lots of Avios availability to Doha for World Cup
If any readers had been hoping to head to Doha for the World Cup but have not booked plane tickets, you may be in luck. British Airways appear to have released a lot of availability on Avios. BA had added flights for the World Cup, so I’d guess they have not been as popular as they thought. (not surprising given the controversy and the fact they are quoting £10 a pint).
Reward Flight Finder has partnered with TLFL to bring you regular highlights of Avios availability to help you use your Avios. RFF allows Avios collectors to find flights in several ways. You can search an entire year of availability in all classes instantly. You can also see all Avios routes available on a particular date which is great if you are struggling to use them. You can also set alerts for when seats are released for your preferred routes and dates.
Here was the availability on RFF earlier:

Pan Pacific – Flash sale up to 40% off
Pan Pacific in London is one of my favourite hotels – the rates are the most reasonable for a true luxury hotel in London. The decor brings you back to Asia in an elegant and subtle way and the pool area is fabulous. If you love chilli crab it’s also worth the visit for that! You can see my full review here.
Pan Pacific are giving up yo 40% off in their flash sale. The base discount is 20%, and GHA Discovery members get an additional 20% off, bringing the total discount to 40%. The offer is valid for bookings until November 11.
You can access this offer on Pan Pacific’s website here.
There is a minimum stay requirement of two nights.
Pan Pacific hotels participate in Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) Discovery loyalty scheme.

The Hilton Impresario promotion is also still valid where you get 3 for the price of 2 or 4 for 3 in a variety of luxury Hilton properties as well as all the Impresario benefits. The offer is valid until 31 March 2023.

I think the vast reason that BA have this huge availability to Doha is that unless you have a ticket to the World Cup you cannot visit Doha during the World Cup, if you have a business meeting etc you need a government letter and these are very difficult to obtain and are people are being told NO
The system is flawed and Dubai and Abu Dhabi will do much better than Qatar sadly.
For Michele and general information re chasing of gold points targets with BA Holidays:
We arrived back from a 5 night double points BA Holidays trip to Naples on 1 Nov, my points year cutting off on 8 November. In the 9 days since we had heard nothing from BA or BAH other than the credit of the normal 80. We were about to chase this when I received a letter from BA 1 hour ago confirming that my gold remained for next year. They have shown the extra 80 points in my next year tally so I am assuming they have perhaps made an exec decision to reappoint me as gold even though my points total 1080 rather than 1125/1160.
Thanks Paul. That’s rather strange to credit them to next year but a good result and relatively quick crediting. For those that are reading this and don’t get given the renewal when it credits in the wrong year if you call BA they should fix it for you.
Sorry for asking a q related to yesterday’s news but with Abu Dhabi removing remaining restrictions, any particular hotels to recommend? One with a beachfront ideally. I keep saying I will try Abu Dhabi or RAK instead of Dubai but then end up going back to my same haunts in Dubai each time.
I’ve stayed in the Fairmont which I really liked. Quite modern and more blingy. Loved the Shangri-La which was more traditional Arabic design. Lounge was great. The Rosewood is super modern and also has an amazing lounge. But I found it a bit corporate and soulless.
