European Christmas markets – dates and Avios flight availability
Vienna
November 11, 2023 to January 4, 2024
Vienna is the epitome of a magical, traditional Christmas. More often than not, you can expect snow during your visit, and the locals dress the town for a sparkle-fueled yule. You’ll find loads of smaller Christmas markets located throughout the old town, as well as outdoor cafes serving mulled wine, pretzels and roasted chestnuts.
Reward seat availability is great during November; a lot of dates have 6 Economy seats, and 6 Business Class. The middle of December is booked outbound from London, although the end of December is looking good.
Gothenburg
November 19 to December 30, 2023
Liseberg, Sweden’s most biggest amusement park, hosts Gothenburg’s vast Christmas markets. There’s so much to do you can make an entire day of your visit, and visitors can expect Santa, ice shows, fairground rides, as well as traditional Swedish food and ale.
Reward seat availability is great across November and December. Lots of dates have 6 Economy seats, and 6 Business Class.
Berlin
November 20, 2023, to January 1, 2024
Berlin holds around 80 Christmas markets during the festive season, so there’s plenty to sink your teeth into. Spandau is the biggest, with its huge traditional Christmas tree and visit from Santa. Weihnachtszauber is more modern, with lots of arts and crafts. Winter World gives visitors a chance to go tobogganing or ice-skating.
Reward seat availability is excellent from the end of November to January. Loads of dates have 6 Economy seats, and 4 Business Class.
Cologne
November 23 to December 23, 2023
A hugely popular winter city break destination, Cologne has a number of Christmas markets, including Markt der Engel with its festive decorations and elaborate offerings, and Nikolausdorf, which is family-friendly. There’s also an outdoor ice-skating rink on Heumarkt.
Reward seat availability is really good for the entire time the markets are on, with lots of dates having 6 Economy seats to book.
Brussels
November 24 to December 31, 2023
Brussels’ festive extravaganza, Winter Wonders, boasts over 200 sweet wooden chalets across Grand-Place, Bourse, Place Sainte-Catherine and Marché aux Poissons. Visitors are spoiled for choice, with ice skating rinks, entertainment shows, endless shopping and merriment. Being Belgium, you’ll also find beer, chocolate, waffles, and warming mulled wine.
Reward seat availability is excellent for the duration of the markets, with many dates having 6 Economy, and 6 Business Class seats to book.

I’d add one other Christmas market destination – Zagreb.
Hi James
I agree – Zagreb market does look very festive! I’ve checked Zagreb BA reward seats for you. If you’re looking to travel from London in Club Europe you’re in luck – November and December has great availability, and lots of days have up to 6 seats.
Economy reward seats for this trip are trickier. Availability is patchy, and there’s only a few dates in November with any Economy seats left. December is better, but there’s still a lot less availability than you’ll find in BC.
Happy flying!
