Artiem Capri Mahón, Menorca
I recently spent two nights with family at the ARTIEM Capri Hotel in Mahón during a half-term holiday. I chose Menorca because it was the only island I had not yet visited in the Balearics.
The ARTIEM group has multiple hotels in Menorca and a hotel in Madrid and Asturias. ARTIEM hotels are a sustainable option emphasises meeting the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. There is also a huge priority on diversity, inclusiveness, and mindful eating.
The Location of the ARTIEM Capri Hotel
The hotel’s spacious rooms and proximity to local attractions make it an ideal choice for a trip with family or friends. The hotel also catered very well to business travellers with excellent WIFI and workspaces. The hotel’s focus on wellness and local tours caters well to health and adventure enthusiasts.
The Artiem Capri is just a few minutes from the central square and bus station of Mahon, the capital of Menorca. The hotel is the perfect base for exploring the island, plus it’s very close to Menorca airport.
Mahon is small enough to explore in a day, go shopping and walk around the scenic port area. We were lucky enough to see the parade of the Mahon giants appear at a street parade and see the annual cheese festival.

You can save a lot of money by booking far in advance.
Check-In
Stepping into the hotel, it looked modern, although less so from the outside.
Our late evening arrival was met with a swift and welcoming check-in process. We were given a tour of the facilities and information about the hotel.
The Room
Though facing neighbouring buildings, our interior room was a cosy enclave on the 4th floor with all the necessary comforts. It was not actually an ‘interior room’ because we had a balcony and window. For those seeking picturesque views, I recommend opting for a city-view room. The room was not luxurious but it had everything we needed.
We booked a triple room which included three single beds. On arrival, the room was spotless.
The Bathroom
The bathroom had everything we needed. I especially liked the body lotion and the rainfall shower.
The bathroom was large with a nice-sized mirror. There was space around the sink to put toiletries once the cups were removed.
The WIFI speed was so good that I managed to do more than a day’s work and enjoy the local area more the next day,
Other Room Types at the ARTIEM Capri, Mahón
Most rooms at the ARTIEM are double or twin rooms. Here are the room choices:
- Double or Twin Balcony Room with city views.
- Solidarity Room – 100% of the amount goes entirely to Caritas, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those who need it most.
- Urban Jacuzzi Deluxe – Similar to a twin or double room but with a two-person bathroom jacuzzi.
Facilities
The Green Room
The green room is a unique idea I’ve only encountered in hotel and airport lounges. The room was available for all guests to use and featured a range of free soft drinks, juices, beers and wines throughout the day. There are also spirits available with an honesty payment system. In the late afternoon and evening, complimentary snacks were served, which included cakes, wraps and salads.
Gym
Rooftop Pool and Terrace
The ARTIEM Capri rooftop pool area has breathtaking city views right across from the port and out of Mahon. There is also a sauna and hot tub. Visiting at the end of October, the pool was freezing, but I still saw people swimming. The hotel has a cover for the terrace during the winter months.
The jacuzzi was not hot, but it was a much better temperature than the pool!
Spa
A standout feature of the ARTIEM Capri is its 5th-floor spa, Le Petit Spa. An array of beauty treatments are on offer and displayed throughout the hotel.
ARTIEM Experiences
The hotel offers several tours as part of a partnership with Menorca 360:
- Hike Menorca – Two unique walks featuring the Northern Albufeira des Grau Natural Park and the southern ravines of Llucalari, Cala en Porter, and Calescoves.
- Bike Menorca – Cycling through through two circular routes around Mahón.
- Explore Menorca – A walking and cycling adventure.

Breakfast
Breakfast could be added to the booking for €16 per person. We were shown a table and paid on entry. There was a spectacular range of local produce and Spanish breakfast options.
There was a big emphasis on health, with fresh juices and many healthy options. The service was excellent throughout, with friendly and attentive staff.
There was a good selection of local meats and cheeses
There was also live cooking, serving omelettes.
Breakfast in bed is also available. You can read the full menu here.
Final Words
I enjoyed my stay overall. The ARTIEM Capri was an excellent choice and had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. If we return to Mahon, ARTIEM Capri will always be my top choice.
