Tickets are now on sale and include a glass of Hambledon English sparkling wine or non-alcoholic cocktail and some nibbles. There will be a prize draw on the night and the chance to meet some of the TLFL team, including me. Hopefully, we will also have some travel industry people as well.

US/Canada/Mexico from £1129 return with new TAP sale
TAP has a new sale on at some very reasonable prices. TAP are members of the Star Allianxce and have good, modern aircraft and business class seats. However, I have heard reports of their customer service not being great when things go wrong. But with these prices, that is probably a trade-off you are willing to take. You can also often add a free stopover in Lisbon or Porto, which are great cities to explore.
- Sales Period: January 5th to January 18th, 2024
- Travel Period: January 11th to May 31st, 2024
- Blackout: March 21st to April 8th, 2024
- Minimum Stay: Europe & North Africa – Saturday night or three days. Others – Saturday night or five days
- Maximum Stay: 1 Month
Here are some example prices:

Australia from £2790 business clas return
There are some well-priced deals with Chinese airlines to Australia at the moment. The first is £2790 return to Sydney or Melbourne, which is with Air China. Air China does use their modern A350 out of Heathrow as well as a B777-300. The flights do involve a longish stopover in Beijing of 9-10 hours, but breaking up the journey is not always a bad thing. This fare is available from Trailfinders.
There is also another fare that is slightly more expensive with China Southern, which I would rate above Air China. You can read our review here.
The fare is from £2,943 to Melbourne or Sydney. The airline flies B787 and A350s from London to Australia. There is also a fairly long stopover in Guangzhou, at least one way.
You can check the cheapest online fare using Skyscanner here or book direct with China Southern.
