Well, we haven’t had a Qatar promotion for at least a week, so it’s time for another one! The recent Qatar sales have not had anything very exciting from easy to get to airports, but finally, we have a decent sale. This sale is a companion fare sale so two people must travel together to get the cheapest price but there are a few single fares that are good too.
The sale offers a saving of up to 50% when you book for two. You must book your ticket by 16 October 2017 for travel until 31 May 2018. The Christmas period is not available in the sale between 15 December 2017 to 10 January 2018. One of the best bargains is to Windhoek in Namibia (or Nambia as Mr Trump calls it)! Apart from being a great destination in its own right with fantastic safaris and scenery, it is also close to South Africa for a 2 centre holiday.
You will, of course, get Avios and an average of 560 tier points for an Asian destination, depending on where you start from. I really like Qatar’s onboard service. You can read my reviews here.
From the UK
As usual, the UK prices are significantly higher than ex EU. Remember, you may be able to get a lower price by including 1 nights’s accommodation, as I discussed in this article. Although the prices aren’t great there are advantages to flying from London such as a lack of hassle, a fantastic business class lounge at Heathrow and you can also now experience the new Qsuite to and from London on the QR 8/9.
The prices quoted are per person in business class when 2 people travel together.
- Goa £1569
- Bali £2189
- Bangkok £1869
- Kuala Lumpur £1979
- Katmandu £1689

Ex EU fares
Often most of the decent fares are from airports that are difficult to get to from the UK without having to take 2 flights and spend a bit of money. This time, however, there are some good fares from decent airports. My top pick is Johannesburg or Windhoek from Germany if you want to visit South Africa or Namibia. Berlin is easy to get to, although the airport itself is pretty basic.
The sale fares below are for 2 people but there are prices for 1 person that are reduced for some of them. The best of the fares are:

Bali/Denpasar (DPS) | £ 1,251.00 | Brussels | Bulgaria |

The discount code QRDEAL doesn’t seem to work with the Business Promo (i.e. the really cheap options), unless I am missing something?
I don’t know why as the T&C specifically says that you can use it on promotional fares to get 5% off. Are you definitely using it from a country listed from Scandinavia and to one of the countries on the list? If so I would try again as Qatar’s IT is notoriously flaky.
Have spent an hour looking at those supposed deals and unable find anything anything remotely close to the prices noted above ?
Hi Dave. The really cheap deals disappear very quickly. The article was published a few days ago. I was looking at a good fare myself yesterday and it had disappeared by this morning. They only have a very limited amount of seats at the cheap price. It’s always best to try and buy on the first day of the sale to get the best prices. They are very likely to do a sale at the end of November for Black Friday with similar prices.
