20% off Qatar Airways Flights
Qatar has another 20% offer code which can be used by Privilege Club members. If you are not already a member and collect Avios you should definitely join as Qatar has different offers to BA on Avios and it is free to join.
You need to use the code PCOCT24 to get the discount on the fare element of the ticket (not the taxes and charges).
The code is valid until 22 October 2024, and you can travel from 1 February – 30 June 2025. The discounts vary between 10-20% depending on the destination.
You can find the offer page here.
EU biometrics delayed again
The Guardian stated yesterday that the 10 November date for the introduction of EES is likely to be delayed again after France, Germany, and the Netherlands asked for the date to be reconsidered.
The entry-exit system (EES) will require non-EU citizens to have their fingerprints or photos taken before entering the Schengen area, which is likely to cause long delays for passengers at immigration as the first time someone enters the EU, they need to have all their fingerprints taken. The system has already been delayed twice. I have no idea why they couldn’t use something more modern like the system that the US uses for Global Entry, where you simply look at a camera for a couple of seconds, and it captures your face. I don’t even need to have my passport scanned to enter the US now.
Hilton Honors new 100% buy bonus
In the days of high hotel prices, buying points can save you a lot of money. However, you should always check the redemption price immediately before you book, as when the standard redemption rates sell out, the amounts needed for a premium redemption are less likely to represent a saving when buying points.
The 100% Points bonus campaign is available for purchases of 5,000 or more Points made by 27 November 24. You can purchase a maximum of 240,000 points per calendar year during the promotion period. All purchases are non-refundable. If you bought the minimum of 5000 points to get a total of 10,000 with the bonus, it would cost £41.26, and the maximum amount of 480,000 points (including the bonus) would cost £1980.48. Don’t forget if you redeem 5 nights on points you get the fifth night free.

Ummm… It also requires Home Office vetting that costs £42, US DHS vetting that costs $100 and then an interview in person that also requires fingerprinting and photo taking. Not sure if GE is something any country should be aspiring to, as efficient as it is once you have it!
I think Michele is talking about the technology rather than the cost of it. Just a bit of correction for those reading the comment it is now $120 gone up start of the month. I applied a few months ago when it was still $100. But the list price is a made up number of course there is no reason why it is $100 exactly.
It’s a contribution towards the cost of the application processing, and maybe system maintenance, so of course it’s going to be arbitrary. It’s also pitched at a price point to not be so cheap that they are overwhelmed by applications but not so high that it doesn’t attract enough interest to make it sustainable.
With the Qatar offer for Privilege Club members – does anyone know with this deal if you can still credit the miles/tier points earned to other OW FF programmes? Or do you have to credit them to Qatar PC?
