Virgin Atlantic’s Partnership with Hawaiian Airlines to End
From 30th June 2025, the partnership between Virgin Atlantic and Hawaiian Airlines will officially come to an end.
Earning Virgin Points and Tier Points: You’ll no longer earn Virgin Points or Tier Points on Hawaiian Airlines flights from 30th June 2025 – even if the flight is already booked. If you’re flying before the end of June, you can still earn points – just make sure your Flying Club number is added to the booking. You can still claim missing points up to 6 months after your flight date.
Redeeming Virgin Points with Hawaiian Airlines: You can still redeem Virgin Points on Hawaiian Airlines flights – as long as you book by 30th June for travel on or before 28th February 2026. It’s worth noting that changes won’t be allowed after the cutoff date, only cancellations.
This comes after the news that Hawaiian Airlines is merging with Alaska Airlines (part of Oneworld) and joining the Mileage Plan loyalty programme. In preparation, Hawaiian is ending existing airline partnerships, including Japan Airlines, Virgin Australia, Korean Air, JetBlue, and China Airlines.
While Hawaiian Airlines is a lesser-known Virgin partner, it was a useful option for inter-island flights or hops from the US mainland. This won’t impact most Flying Club members, but if you were planning a flight with Hawaiian Airlines using your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club number, now’s the time to book!
Virgin’s non-SkyTeam partners are diminishing, with the Virgin Atlantic-Singapore airlines partnership also ending as of 23rd April.
