I stayed at the 4-star Am Konzerthaus Vienna MGallery for two nights at the end of November to visit the Vienna Christmas markets and Schönbrunn Palace. I was looking at Accor properties for my stay, and this hotel stood out as good value for the standard of service and location.

Booking
I booked a few months in advance and paid £167 +£20 points for two nights in a classic room.
This price was partly because I have the ALL PLUS Voyager card, which features guaranteed room availability two days before, 20 status nights and an annual bonus night. The main bonus of the card is 20% off luxury and premium Accor hotels like MGallery, Sofitel and Pullman and 15% off economy and mid-scale Accor brands. The card usually sells for £171, but I got mine in a sale at some point for £135, and I’ve definitely got my money’s worth so far.
Am Konzerthaus Vienna MGallery Location
The Am Konzerthaus Vienna MGallery has a convenient location to the main attractions, a 14-minute walk to the Vienna Opera House and a 9-minute walk from the entrance to the Karlsplatz shopping area. The hotel is opposite a taxi stand and a short walk from tram stops and metro stations. There are also many quaint cafes and high-end restaurants nearby. It’s near other high-end hotels, such as the Ritz Carlton Vienna and the Intercontinental.
Check-In
Upon arrival, the check-in process at the hotel was smooth and welcoming. The staff were both professional and personable, making a great first impression. I arrived later than expected, at around 15:00, because my train from Budapest was delayed en route. I then had to navigate Vienna Hbf station and opted for a taxi to the hotel for €12.
There was no queue at reception, and many staff members were on hand to help. There was an Accor priority check-in desk, but I did not need to use this. There were porters on hand to help with luggage, but this was not required for me with one suitcase.
I was given my room immediately and informed I had been upgraded to a deluxe king room because of my Accor Gold status. I was told that the room was the same, but everything in the minibar was free of charge. I opted to pay on arrival and booked breakfast for the following day.
The small reception area seemed spacious, with amazing decor and lovely golden lifts. The bar opens on one side to be partly in the reception area.
The Room
The room I stayed in blended modern luxury and classic elegance. The room had an ambient and comforting decor, and some lights had been turned on, ready for my arrival.
The bed was very comfortable – just what I needed after a long train journey, and an extensive pillow menu was delivered to the room later.
I was left a welcome note, a chocolate, and a box of Durch Die Blume lemon biscuits.
The view from my window was the front of the hotel. Other rooms had views of the Vienna Opera House. There was a single chair at a desk and a more relaxing chair in the corner. There were also many plug sockets by the bed, coffee machine and desk.
The room featured a coffee machine with four coffee pods. I did have to watch a YouTube video to work out how to use it, and there was no milk available, but the coffee was still delicious.
There was also a large selection of teas and filter coffees.
The minibar was well stocked and filled daily.
Room service was available, but there was no menu, so it wasn’t very tempting for me. There was also the option to have breakfast delivered to the room for an extra fee. I haven’t seen this offered since I stayed at the Sofitel London Gatwick, and it’s always good to have the option. You choose and hang the menu on your door the night before. Breakfast is then delivered at your selected time.
At around 19:00 on the first night, I had an unexpected knock at the door. I was delivered a good night kit with L’occitane hand cream, pillow spray, chamomile tea and chocolate. I was unsure about the earplugs. Did this mean it would be noisy outside? I also got earplugs in my room in Budapest.
The bathroom was a good size. There were some fantastic toiletries provided. I loved the conditioner. It would have been good to have more storage space for toiletries, not around the edge of the sink.
Other Room Types
Classic Room: This is the room type I booked. It is the ‘perfect backdrop for solo travellers’ with a paid minibar and free in-room water.
Superior Room: The superior room is larger and described as being ‘backstage on stage’. There is more of a design element to these rooms. The superior is available as a queen or twin.
Deluxe Room: The deluxe room is even larger with a Nespresso machine, turndown service and free minibar. This is the room I was upgraded to.
Junior Suite: This room has a separate living and working area, described as being great for a special occasion or longer stay. There is one king-size bed and sofa bed, a welcome room service tray and turndown service.
Food and Drink
The food and drink on offer was fantastic.
Breakfast
The breakfast was a delight. There was a diverse spread catering to all tastes. I had breakfast one day. The €30 cost put me off. I’m sure breakfast would have been much cheaper if I’d added it to the booking.
A lovely continental breakfast selection was offered, including plenty of bread, cheeses and pastries in true Vienesse style.
A small selection of cooked breakfast was available, including beans, rosti, eggs and sausage.
The juices were okay but were just your usual apple and orange juice with mixed fruit options. Some fresh juices or smoothies would have been better. However, there was a good selection of coffee available from the machine.
Bar
The bar had lots of options, and it was always busy. I got a complimentary drink token as part of my Accor Gold status.
Apron: A 1-Michelin star restaurant
APRON is the hotel’s restaurant and is also open to the public. The Michelin guide describes it as being stylish yet elegant and modern. The menu features handcrafted dishes full of flavour. Sadly, I didn’t have time to eat her because I was exploring the Christmas markets.
Facilities
As expected, the hotel has many other useful facilities as a high-end hotel.
Gym
I didn’t get a chance to see the gym. It looks small, but the equipment looks modern.
On-Site Underground Parking
The hotel offers convenient on-site underground parking, a rarity in such a central location.
Meetings
The meeting facilities are top-notch for business travellers and equipped with everything needed for a successful event.
Final Words
My stay at the Am Konzerthaus Vienna MGallery was nothing short of luxurious. From the strategic location to the sumptuous dining options and well-appointed rooms, it’s a top choice for anyone visiting Vienna. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit.
