British Airways has announced it will be adding another two new transatlantic routes to its summer 2018 schedule at Gatwick. From 1 May Toronto, Canada, will be served by 3 flights a week. After a brief hiatus, Las Vegas will be returning to Gatwick with three flights a week from March 27 2018. Whether this will have any effect on the Heathrow schedules is not known, but I suspect that initially, it will remain the same.
If you are trying to get Avios redemptions to the West Coast for next year, now is the time to snap them up. Vegas is showing lots of availability when the new routes start from Gatwick, even in First. Las Vegas is an easy place to get to most of the US West Coast, with plenty of cheap flights available or you could use Avios to fly on American for the connection. Toronto also currently has plenty of availability from Gatwick.
