BA Mixed Fleet are due to be on strike for the next couple of weeks in their long running dispute over pay and penalising striking staff.
It has now been revealed that BA and Unite may be close to agreement. BA have agreed to back down over strikers losing their right to staff travel providing the strike is ended immediately.
The recent wave of bad press may well have contributed to this major u-turn by BA management. Pictures of food bank for BA Mixed fleet cabin crew along with stories of staff having to use staff travel to commute due to not being able to afford to live in the south have not down BA any favours.
It remains to be seen if Unite accept the deal but it is looking hopeful for BA’s long suffering customers. Although those that have been enjoying the upgraded seats and service on Qatar’s aircraft leased by BA for the strike may not be so pleased!
