Even before the current strike until 16 July has ended, Unite have today announced further strike dates. The dispute was originally over pay with some cabin crew members citing poverty due to the low levels of pay. Although the pay elements have been agreed, Unite are unhappy with the punitive measures being taken against their members that have participated in previous official strikes.
They intend to hold a further period of industrial action from:
00:01 hours on Wednesday 19 July 2017 to 23:59 hours on Tuesday 1 August 2017
The official BA announcement is here.
What will be the effect of the BA strike and when will we know more?
I am actually flying myself to Dublin during the strike. The strike only affects flights to and from Heathrow. As Mixed Fleet cabin crew who are members of Unite only make up a small proportion of overall cabin crew, the effect should not be huge. If you are flying on the strike days the chances are you will still get to your destination but it may not be at the original time. BA have pledged to get everyone to their destination, although with no guarantee as to timing. In the current strike, BA has cancelled some short and long haul flights. On long haul they have been mainly to Doha, where passengers were rebooked onto Qatar, and a few African, Middle East and East coast USA destinations. BA claim that 99.5% of flights have operated.
BA normally announce contingency plans 5-7 days before the strike and at this time will notify customers if they are affected. Now would be a good time to download the BA app as well as myflights app , if you don’t already have them and are flying during the strike. BA flight disruptions can now be managed via the BA app and myflights should give you an early heads up of any changes.

Why anyone is still paying for the cr*p Bloomin Awful deliver is beyond me!
Vote with your bookings, even when the crew are there the product is dated, filthy and uncompetitive… I speak as someone who arrived after 5x 9hr longhauls hungry because they “ran out” of food (combination of CW and WTP)
