I’d struggle to recommend anyone to use Avios for a Club Europe flight out of LCY. With no fast track, no lounge and two by two seating on the E190 the only thing you’re getting is a meal, as they’re still offering their drink and snack service in economy. Sit forward of row 12 to take advantage of great legroom.
The only time I might consider using Avios for a LCY Club redemption would be for an inbound flight if I didn’t have status that gave fast track & lounge access at the originating airport. Even then I’d be checking carefully that these facilities are actually available e.g. at Greek island airports.
Thanks for your comment, Duncan.
I mostly agree with you on what you are saying. Using Avios from London City wouldn’t be classed as maximising them however some people who live in central London that need to fly from there who are Avios rich would still see a great cost-saving benefit using Avios over cash. Especially seeing how expensive European flights are.
Any chance of adding whether LHR, LCY or LGW in list of availability please?
For a number of us makes a big difference whether to consider that destination. 🙂
Cheers, Jean,
