In our previous availability article TLFL reader Chris asked for information about BA reward seat availability for the school holidays in February 2024.
We’ve pulled that information to help inspire travellers for Spring 2024. Keep checking Reward Flight Finder for the latest availability.
Short-haul
London – Athens
Athens has good availability in both Economy and Business Class throughout February 2024 for outbound flights, but there is less available for the return.
London – Faro
Availability is looking excellent across both Economy and Business Class for half term 2o24 outbound, but only economy is available for the return. However, given the high prices of cash fares during this time, it can still be a good value redemption and gives better flexibility than cash.
London – Bordeaux
Availability is looking great across both Economy and Business Class seats with +2 seats available almost every day.
Malaga
Malaga is lacking in economy seats available, but there are 2+ business class seats available almost every day during February.
Long-haul – half term
London – Hong Kong
There’s great Premium Economy availability throughout February, and some days still have Business Class availability up for grabs too.
London – New York
There’s loads of availability in Premium Economy outbound, but generally only one seat coming back.
London – San Francisco
There are a lot of reward seats available in Premium Economy outbound but only business class for the way back. In some ways, this is a good way to do it as you get the flatbed on the long overnight flight home.
Long-haul – First class 2023
Extra availablity seems to have been added for first class flights to the US. Here are the cities that have the most availablity:
-
- New York – outbound only 2+ seats between now and end of August
- Boston – April, May and August have the best availablity but there is less inbound availablity
- Philadelphia – outbound only 2+ seats between now and end of August
- Dallas – a smattering in July and August
You can check further availablity using Reward Flight Finder.

How do we explain the chronic lack of inbound reward availability? I am trying to use a soon expiring Amex companion ticket, and it is hard to find inbound flights.
I have noticed this as well. Trying to book back from SIN or even HKG and nothing….
Maurits; maybe people like me. I’m out to Boston Business Class in May but coming back in First. The price difference was small when I booked. I’m quite happy in Business for a day flight and, if I am going to upgrade one leg, I will choose the overnight flight. I appreciate there are pros and cons over which to upgrade if only one. Also, the advantages of First overnight become fewer as Club Suites become more common.
