Spring 2024 availability
Spring is an attractive time for Avios collectors to spend their points on BA reward flights. There are lots of destinations to choose from, boasting amiable weather and quieter resorts for those seeking some R&R. From short-haul destinations with warmer weather than the UK to far-flung corners that tease new and exciting experiences, here are some of the best BA reward seat availability if you’re seeking a trip in spring.
London – Barcelona
Barcelona is a popular tourist hub across the year, but by visiting in spring you can beat the crowds that often flock to the city. Reward seat availability is excellent throughout February to the end of May. Loads of dates have 6 Economy and 4 Business Class seats available.
London – Beijing
If you want to experience a whole new world, Beijing is the perfect place. There’s some fantastic availability in premium cabins in February, March and April. February and March have a number of dates with up to 3 First Class seats to book and even dates with up to 6 Business Class seats. If you’re happy to fly Premium Economy, there are a lot of dates throughout spring, with six seats up for grabs. After April, there’s no First Class showing right now for the remainder of 2024, and Business Class seats are starting to get booked up quickly, too. Beijing is a typically popular reward seat destination, so if you’re looking to go later in 2024 get booking or set Alerts.
London – Billund, Denmark
Denmark is so family-friendly it boasts the moniker ‘Capital of Children’. Billund is the home of Lego, but there are plenty of other attractions too, including a Viking town, waterpark, and Givskud Zoo. Skip the crowds with a visit in springtime. Reward seat availability is great from February to June, with most days having 6 Economy and 4 Business Class seats available.
London – Faro, Portugal
If you’re looking for a short flight to enjoy some warmer weather, Portugal is a great option. Spring boasts average temperatures of around 15-19 degrees – much better than the UK! Between February and the end of May 2024, there’s a solid selection of reward seats – although the May half-term is pretty booked up already. There’s currently a good selection of dates with up to 4 Economy seats and 4 Business Class, but bear in mind this is also a popular family destination, so availability is likely to be affected by school holidays pretty soon.
London – Grand Cayman
A tiny Caribbean paradise isle, Grand Cayman is a perfect spot for some rest and relaxation. There are some great Business Class reward seat options in April and May. Quite a few dates have up to 4 seats available to book.
London – Istanbul
Istanbul is a fabulous city break, with a plethora of things to see and do. Even better, you’ll get the Turkish sunshine during the Spring months – expect temperatures of 11 -18 degrees. There are currently loads of reward seats up for grabs between February and June. Loads of dates have 6 Economy and 6 Business Class.
London – Kingston
Jamaica is VERY popular with Avios collectors – it can be notoriously difficult to snag reward seats on this route. It’s a year-round destination, but in Spring, you can expect quieter beaches and temperatures of 24-30 degrees. It’s also when the island events calendar kicks in you’ll find carnivals and festivals galore. Right now, May has some good spots of Business Class seat availability; a few dates have two seats up for grabs. Because the flight is 9 hours, if you can bag a daytime flight and you’re happy to go Premium Economy, May also offers a pretty good selection of seats – lots of dates have up to 4 Premium Economy seats.
London – The Maldives
This one isn’t here because it has good availability. We’ve included it because it’s, without a doubt, one of the most in-demand reward seat routes via BA, and right now, if you’re looking to upgrade current Avios seats you may have booked already on this route, or you’re able to book right now to fly in March or April, there’s a little patch of Business Class availability in both of these months with 2 or 3 seats available. Hurry!
London – Zurich
Switzerland makes for a beautiful spring getaway, with lots of nature hikes, city tours and museums to keep visitors busy. The tradition-steeped spring festival, “Sechseläuten”, also takes place in April. Right now, reward seat availability is excellent throughout February to the end of May. Loads of dates have 6 Economy and 6 Business Class seats available.
