Loganair Switches to Avios Today – Earning and Redemption Details Now Available
Loganair will start using Avios as its reward currency starting today as part of the newly rebranded loyalty programme, Loganair Loyalty.
Loganair is now one of seven airlines that use Avios as their currency, including British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, and Finnair.
Loganair will not be switching to a revenue-based model, which many airlines have done in recent months.
You will now have the flexibility of earning Avios from multiple sources and use your Avios to book Loganair flights!
Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said:
“The introduction of Avios, alongside our rebrand to Loganair Loyalty, opens a world of new benefits for our customers. It marks an exciting step forward, giving our frequent flyers more flexibility and choice in collecting and spending rewards.”
Earning Avios with Loganair
Depending on which fare you book, you’ll earn 410-1,300 Avios for a one-way flight:
- Fly: 410 Avios (Previously 250 Clan Points)
- Fly Flex: 820 Avios (Previously 400 Clan Points)
- Fly Flex+: 1,300 Avios (Previously 800 Clan Points)
This is a great earning rate, considering many of Loganair’s routes are very short!
Loganair has over 70 routes across the UK and Europe, including a large network of flights to major UK cities and many remote Scottish communities.
Redeeming Avios with Loganair
A one-way reward flight with Loganair will cost 6,500 Avios plus taxes and charges. This is equivalent to a ‘Fly’ ticket. As this pricing is fixed, you can get some great deals during peak dates when cash flights see a huge price increase.
We don’t yet know exactly what the taxes and charges will be on these flights, but we’ll keep you updated!
How to Redeem Avios with Loganair
You will be able to link your Loganair account with your BA account to combine your Avios in one place. Redemptions need to be booked directly with Loganair.
You can link your British Airways account to other programmes like the Qatar Privilege Club to widen your opportunities to collect and spend Avios.
Here’s how to link your Loganair account with your British Airways account:
- Go to Avios.com and navigate to ‘Transfer from Loganair Loyalty’
- Click ‘Link Accounts Now’. You must have a BA and Loganair account to do this.
- Verify your Loganair account and return to Avios.com
- You will get a confirmation email.
- Move Avios between your Loganair and BA accounts as you wish.
Other Things to Note
- Avios cannot be transferred between Membership numbers.
- Avios are not awarded for Code Share flights where Loganair is not the operating carrier or for flights operated for the Orkney Islands Council.
- Avios are credited after the flight if the membership number is included in the booking.
- Avios cannot be combined with cash or other payments for Reward tickets.
- If a Reward ticket is not used, Avios will be forfeited, but airport tax refunds may be available (admin fee may apply).
- The transfer of Avios between accounts will not extend the validity of Avios in the Loganair Loyalty account.
