Hilton gives free Diamond or Gold memberships
To thank their most elite members for their continued loyalty this year, all Hilton Diamond members will be able to gift status to a family or friend – regardless of whether or not they have hit the room night milestone this year. Typically, the Elite Status Gifting benefit is reserved for members who complete this annual night requirement.
On Monday (December 14), Diamond members will receive an email with instructions to gift Gold status, while Lifetime Diamond members will be able to gift Diamond status.
As a reminder, Hilton also recently announced another set of Honors programme extensions for members. Most notably, no points will expire before Dec 2021. And they are halving the number of nights you need to accrue to get elite status. Any Silver, Gold or Diamond members who were set to downgrade in 2020 or 2021, will have their status frozen until March 2022.
I have to say I’m pretty impressed with how Hilton has handled the COVID crisis. They have been pretty proactive in protecting member benefits and also in giving easier ways to gain or maintain status. Next week I will look at how working from Hiltons can help you gain status without staying.
25% off off Hilton hotels including luxury brands such Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR Hotels
Hilton has launched discounts of up to 25% off stays until March 31, 2021 at nearly 500 hotels across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The offer is running across brands including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn.
As travel restrictions continue to evolve, all bookings are fully flexible, with free changes and cancellations permitted up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival day. I will be checking out the Hilton Syon Park next week, which is a great quick break from London if you want a night away without much travel involved.
