New BA A350 Club Suites routes
British Airways has been finalising its summer aircraft schedule leading to some new routes seeing the A350 next summer. As ever, it is always still subject to change, so you have to accept the risk of an aircraft change if you chose to book a route just to try the A350.
The new routes are:
- London Heathrow – Philadelphia eff 29 Mar 20
BA067/066 A350-1000XWB replaces previously filed 3-class 777-200ER. - London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita eff 1 Jul 20 A350-1000XWB replaces 787-9 (Except Day 4 from LHR, Day 5 from NRT operated by 3-class 777-200ER).

The new Club Suites will also be on BA’s new B787-10s with 6 being delivered next year. Atlanta was announced as the first destination in February but now they have also added:
- London Heathrow – Dallas eff 1 Jun 20 BA193/BA192

Etihad T4 London lounge – The House
Just over a year ago Etihad announced that at Heathrow T4, they had launched a partnership with No1 Lounges and their Etihad lounge would now be known as the ‘The House, home of Etihad Airways and other leading airlines’. In regards to other lounges, the press release said “The scope of the new lounge brand may be expanded to include other lounges.” Now it appears according to Australian Executive Traveller that they have had a change of heart and are taking back control of the lounge. Etihad were once a great airline, but after a series of bad investment decisions, they now appear to lurch from one bad idea to another only to change their minds again!
The lounge will change back to Etihad from 20 December 2019 although it may take a while for the branding to change. No 1 will still be doing the catering so whether there is actually any real change remains to be seen.
The ultimate luggage tag?
To end their year of centenary celebrations, BA have been giving their employees a unique gift – a key chain/luggage tag made from a piece of B747 fuselage. The aircraft in question was G-BNLJ a B747-400. Needless to say, the tags have ended up on eBay for an astonishing £50-100!

They will be under the umbrella of IAG before long then, adopting this W Walsh philosophy of trying to squeeze a buck here and there with no thought for staff or paying passengers, but simply trying to increase dividends for shareholders.
