Amex Gold Card sign-up and referral offer
American Express has launched a limited-time offer on its Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card, offering Cardmembers boosted Membership Rewards points and a chance to win up to £200 in Amazon e-vouchers.
From today until 8 August, 2023, new Amex Gold Cardmembers will be able to earn 25,000 Membership Rewards points, boosted from the usual 20,000 points, when they sign up and are approved for the Card and spend £3,000 in their first three months. Cardmembers who apply by 18 July, 2023, and achieve the welcome bonus of 25,000 Membership Rewards points will also be entered into a competition to win up to £200 Amazon eVouchers.
The Amex Gold is one of the best all round miles and points cards thanks to its free first year and then reasonable ongoing fees as well as the flexibility to transfer points into airlines miles including Avios and Virgin Points as well as hotel points including Marriott.
New Amex Gold Cardmembers who apply by 18 July, 2023, and achieve the welcome bonus by spending £3,000 in the first three months of Cardmembership, will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win up to £200 worth of Amazon e-vouchers to spend site-wide. There are 3,200 total vouchers to be won; 1,000 x £50 vouchers, 400 x £100 vouchers and 1,800 x £200 vouchers.
Plus, as a limited time offer again running until 8 August, 2023, existing Amex Gold Cardmembers could earn extra Membership Rewards points when referring a friend. Existing Cardmembers could earn a bonus of 14,000 bonus points, and their referred friend could earn 30,000 bonus points, if they sign up and are approved, and spend £3,000 in the first 3 months of Cardmembership. Any new Cardmembers that are referred and approved for a Gold Card by 18 July, and spend £3,000 in 3 months, will also be automatically entered into the Amazon prize draw.
Gold Cardmembers earn Membership Rewards points every time they spend, with no limit on how many points can be earned, and no points expiry date. This includes 3 x points for purchases at American Express Travel, 2 x points for purchases directly with airlines and 1 point on virtually every other £1 spent.

Virgin Atlantic partners with Yotes Court to celebrate English wine week
Virgin Atlantic and award-winning Yotes Court have partnered to celebrate English wine week (17th- 25th June) The airline is flying Yotes Court’s renowned English Bacchus, named ‘On the Nod’ for the month of June across its network in Upper Class. If you haven’t tried Bacchus, I’d say it’s like a cross between sauvignon blanc and a dry riesling – light, fruity and aromatic.
Yotes Court vineyard is based in Kent and sits across 75 acres of free-draining soil full of Kentish ragstone; the ideal conditions for growing the perfect grapes. The vineyard is known for its 100% sustainable practices. The vineyard was one of the first to attain Sustainable Wine of Great Britain certification, secured using “living-soil” viticultural practices, promotion of biodiversity and environmental conservation thereby minimising their carbon footprint per hectare.
