Great deals to Singapore from £1100
There are currently two fantastic deals from Stockholm to Singapore. Even if you want to go somewhere else in Asia, it may be worth considering since Singapore is a great airport to transit through, being almost an attraction in itself. The cheapest I have seen this route in recent years is around £1000, so it is probably as good as you will find for the moment.
There are two options:
Finnair
The advantage of this fare is that you can have any number of travellers, unlike the Qatar fare. You will get less tier points though with a total of 360 return, not including any positioning flights. Qatar would get you 560 again without positioning flights. Finnair has a good inflight product with seats in a 1-2-1 configuration on the A350 which is on the Singapore route from Helsinki. You can read my review here.
The rules:
- Minimum stay: a Saturday night
- Maximum stay: 1 month
- Travel: from 18 Mar 19 until 31 December 2019
- Non-refundable and changes not permitted
- Book by 4 April 2019
You can try Skyscanner to find the cheapest online travel agent price or book direct here.
Qatar Airways
The drawback with the Qatar fare is that it is a companion fare, so two or more people must travel together on the same ticket. The Doha-Singapore routes features the new QSuite which you can read my review of here.
The rules:
- Travel Monday to Thursday
- 30-day advance purchase
- Minimum stay 3 days
- Maximum stay 1 month
- Free stopovers permitted in Doha in both directions
- Inbound travel is not permitted 23 Aug 19 through 1 Sep 19 for the departure of the first international sector
- Valid for travel commencing on/after 14 Mar 19 and on/before 1Decec
- Book by 28 March 2019
Fares can be booked direct with Qatar Airways – click here for availability or to book.
BA to redesign their children’s areas in lounges
British Airways is teaming up with leading British children’s brand, My 1st Years to make children’s experience with BA a more fun experience on the ground.
From March 16, seven British Airways lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick will be re-designed to include dedicated ‘My 1st Years Kids Zones’ where young flyers can have endless entertainment.
While parents relax in the lounge, children can ride on mini aeroplanes, play a range of musical instruments or cook up a storm in the mini kitchens. Let’s hope the rooms are soundproof if there are musical instruments being played!!
Children travelling through Heathrow over selected dates in July and August will also be given a limited edition My 1st Years centenary backpack featuring a bespoke British Airways design. The backpack will also be sold internationally on the My 1st Years website.
This exclusive partnership extends in the BA Avios eStore where customers purchasing My 1st Years will be able to earn Avios points. The Avios eStore features over 900 retailers across fashion, health & beauty, gifts & flowers, entertainment, tech, travel, children’s toys and electricals. British Airways Executive Club members collect Avios for every £1 spent through the online store, while the amount of Avios varies by retailer.
Jude Winstanley, Head of Ground Product at British Airways, said: “Offering a quality customer experience is important no matter what your age and by partnering with My 1st Years we hope our youngest travellers have an unforgettable journey with us. In this, our centenary year, we’re working with some of the best British designers and manufacturers and as part of our £6.5bn investment programme we’ve introduced a completely new design concept in our lounges across the globe. Following recent re-designs in Rome and Aberdeen, we are now focusing on San Francisco and Geneva.”

I booked the Qarta fare for November 2 weeks ago for £1118 1 Pax directly with. Only an extra £118 for single person supplement not bad. My final destination is Bali and with just an extra £78 via Singapore Arline. It’s definitely worth it. Can’t wait to try out the new Q-suites.
We did too, for 1150 with the amex deal. We are using it to go to Cambodia and kota kinabolu. Month of Nov gone.
Cant wait to see new CW BA seats.
Michelle, thanks for these newsletters, very useful and interesting. I think you mean ‘tier points’ when you say there are only 360 Avios on the Finnair deal. By the way, for sake of comparison, how many tier points on the Qatar deal?
Updated! Thanks. 560 for Qatar.
