British Airways First class from £1809, business class from £1250 – hurry, very limited
Some new fares have popped up today, which are very limited in supply. So if you see something, don’t think they will still be there in a few days. I suspect these will be gone within 24 hours. The fares for First are about as low as we have seen for the last few years. If you want to know more about flying in First with British Airways, you can read our guide here.
These are all ex-Germany flights. I generally advise booking your positioning flight for the night before, although obviously, this does increase costs. I would go for Munich, which is an amazing city to visit. However, you may be able to build in an overnight break back at Heathrow instead, which may be better for people that live close by.
The fares are all to New York (Newark airport) and priced per person return. They are available from October to March 2024 with most availability in November and January. Frankfurt had the best availability overall.
Minimum stay is 6 days.

Update to the British Airways app has new feature
BA has launched a new version of their app today. I’m sure like me, you have experienced lots of issues with the app not showing your flights without refreshing it numerous times. In the last couple of weeks, it seems to have stopped for me, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way.
The good news is that the new app version will allow you to upload your passport details to be approved for travel without a passport check to certain countries. Currently, you have to visit a check-in desk for your passport to be checked to certain destinations, even if you have checked in online. This should allow people visiting most destinations to bypass the desk if they upload their passport details. The sort of countries it should help with are the US, Australia and Canada, where BA need to check an electronic travel authority or visa before you fly. Apparently this is a third party existing application that BA have paid for, so it should work well.
As yet there is no further information, so it is not clear whether this will be live straight away or how it works. I’ll be keeping an eye on it for my upcoming trip to the US in a few weeks.
HT: Thanks to Craig for his extensive knowledge as ever!

Shame you can’t earn double TPs on these.
On android mobile, BA app on computer and even on BA.com on two different search engines I am receiving a 9 language error message telling me I do not have sufficient permissions to access BA. Do TLFL wiser souls think this is a BA problem or my problem please? [I am awaiting a reply from BA via Gold Card telephone service] Many thanks.
That sounds odd across all devices. If it has just happened it is probably BA. Try clearly your cookies and try again. If it is a recurrent issue it may be to do with your account. They have been blocking some people’s accounts without telling them for security checks but not heard of any recently.
Personally I cannot see uploading your passport online is going to save much time as you will still need to have it with you for any international flights and if checking bags go to a check in desk . That being said if it comes around it will be interesting to see how it works or if it like Verifly which was rather touch and go and approval sometimes did not happen prior to flights and I know I could not get it to work myself .
No update visible on my Android, I presume it’s rolling out to Apple first? I’d prefer it if BA could add to the Android app colour coding of boarding passes so when I go to the First Wing, I’m not challenged every time for having the wrong colour BP on my phone.
Yes it appears it’s just Apple at the moment but given BA have paid for the tech I’d assume it will also be on an Android update too.
