Cathay Pacific opens Palladium lounge in partnership with LW Theatres
I attend an event on Thursday to celebrate the launch of Cathay Pacific’s entertainment partnership with West End theatre group, LW Theatres. The brand has become the first Official Airline Partner for the theatre group. It has been a recent trend for hotels and airlines to partner with entertainment venues to allow special experiences for their loyalty club members. Recent additions include the new Virgin Red room and Qatar’s Ninenty Third lounge at the O2.
Cathay will have a presence across all six of LW Theatres’ venues in Central London including His Majesty’s Theatre, Theatre Royal Drury Lane and The London Palladium.
The launch of the Cathay Lounge at The London Palladium will be of interest to TLFL theatre lovers. Even if you don’t have status with Cathay, you can book access to the exclusive space. You just need to be a member of Cathay’s Asia Miles, and it is free to book. The luxurious space has been designed to emulate the feeling of the Cathay Pacific lounges at London Heathrow and airports across the world.
Use of the lounge is available exclusively to Cathay members worldwide who book their tickets via the LW Theatres website. There are only a small number of seats in the lounge, so make sure you book well in advance. It certainly beats queueing 10 deep at the theatre bar! The lounge only holds 8-10 people, and drinks are not included. However, the charming red coats (think butler, not Butlins) will serve you whatever drink you like that is available from the main bar. It is certainly a lovely way to start a special evening away from the crowds.
The windows are similar to those on Emirates Gamecfhanger first class, with a live view of the street outside. There is even a bit of a treat for aviation geeks while you are there.
You will also be able to enjoy exclusive VIP experiences, including backstage tours and private dinners at theatres. Plus, if you have collected some miles with Cathay, you can exchange Asia Miles for select theatre tickets, which will be available to redeem through the Cathay Shop.
Cathay Pacific flies up to five times a day from London Heathrow, and four times a week from Manchester.
