How to Match Your Status
- Sign up for Club Avolta using the website or app
- Complete your status match application.
- You will be notified within three business days whether or not your status match has been approved.
- Once approved, the Platinum status may take up to 5 business days to reflect in your account. Platinum status lasts for one year after signing up.
- Enjoy travel benefits. You receive the discount by scanning the QR code in the app at the till.
If you are a new member and link your Club Avolta account to your Avios account, you will also receive 250 bonus Avios upon completing your first transaction.

New Menus, Amenity Kits and Entertainment on Aer Lingus Transatlantic Routes
Aer Lingus has announced a series of onboard enhancements for transatlantic flights, including refreshed dining options, upgraded amenity kits, and an expanded inflight entertainment selection.
Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, said: At Aer Lingus, we are dedicated to providing the most comfortable experience for our customers as they fly across the Atlantic. Our exceptional inflight offering includes complimentary food and drink, and customers are welcome to enjoy an extensive selection of inflight entertainment options. Those flying in our Business Class cabin will experience added comfort and space while onboard with us.
Business Class: A Seasonal Spring Menu and Luxury Amenity Kit
If you’re flying in Business Class, you can enjoy refreshed amenity kits and a new seasonal spring menu.
On westbound flights, highlights include:
- Smoked salmon with crisp samphire in a citrusy dressing
- Skin on thyme & parsley chicken supreme
- Lemon cream mousse dome or a local Irish cheeseboard.
- The new light bite option is Crispy Korean BBQ popcorn chicken on a salad of Asian black rice.
You’ll also receive a luxury amenity kit with eco-friendly products from Jo Browne Ireland, including a hydrating moisturiser, lip balm, and premium travel essentials such as earplugs, a pen, and a toothbrush—all made using sustainable materials. A 3D-molded eye mask and luxurious socks are also included.
Economy Class: Complimentary Meals and Better Onboard Entertainment
If you’re flying in Economy, you can now enjoy complimentary meals and snacks on transatlantic flights, including a choice of Vinca organic red or white wine, beer, soft drink or juice with your meal.
The onboard entertainment selection has also been improved, with over 1,300 hours of films, TV shows, and games, including Disney+ hits like Loki season 1, The Mandalorian season 1, and Ms. Marvel on seatback screens.
A Solid Choice
In the last few months, Aer Lingus has announced several new transatlantic routes, including Indianapolis and Nashville, bringing the total to 24.
Aer Lingus operates transatlantic flights from Dublin, Shannon, and Manchester to North America and the Caribbean.
Other benefits of flying Aer Lingus include US preclearance at Dublin and Shannon, as well as the ability to collect Avios and earn Oneworld status.

5,000 Bonus Points When You Sign Up to IHG One Rewards and Stay
IHG One Rewards has extended their offer of a welcome bonus of 5,000 points if you sign up and complete your first stay within 21 days of registering. This is a nice bonus if you haven’t signed up yet and plan to stay at an IHG hotel soon. Based on standard IHG redemptions, IHG points are typically worth around 0.4p each, making 5,000 points worth approximately £20.
This offer is available until 30th April 2025. You’ll need to time your registration carefully to make sure you can complete a stay within the 21-day window.
You can earn points at nearly 6,000 IHG Hotels and Resorts:
The 21-day stay window means it’s not worth rushing to register unless you already have an IHG stay planned. However, if you have plans to stay at an IHG hotel, you may as well register for the offer before booking to take advantage of the bonus.
Things to Note
- You must make the booking directly with IHG
- Award nights and Points & Cash bookings do not count
- Your stay must be eligible to earn points
- Bookings must have a minimum value of $30 (£24) before taxes and fees.
- Allow up to six weeks for bonus points to be posted to your account.
