Double Avios on flights
BA’s latest offer for Avios is for Executive Club Members to collect Double Avios on any flight to Europe or holiday with BA. Since BA reduced Avios earning on flights, this is a welcome boost if you are planning to book any flights to Europe.
You’ll also collect 2 Avios for every £1 you spend on a package holiday with British Airways Holidays, so also double the usual rate.
Important things to note
- It only applies to new bookings, and you must register before booking.
- The T&C is very unclear for holiday bookings. It does not state that it needs to be a holiday to Europe, but it does mention that in the introduction which says “on any flight or holiday to Europe with us”. The qualifying holiday definition states that it can be a flight + hotel and/or car and that “the flight element of the booking must originate in the UK.” If you are booking any BA Holiday, you may as well register just in case!
- You can earn Avios on a maximum of 10 flights. A return flight counts as two flights.
- It only applies to British Airways-marketed flights that departs from the UK and land in a domestic or European location
- Extra such as seat booking or baggage also get double Avios when added into your booking
- Double Avios will be awarded 24-48 hours after the completion of each flight, up to a maximum of ten flights. The bonus Avios collected through a holiday will be awarded up to six weeks after completion.
How it works:
- Register now – using your Executive Club membership number before making a booking.
- Book until 24 April 2024 to book and all trips must take place before 30 June 2024.

Hilton buys Nomad but loses Biltmore Mayfair LXR
Hilton has announced that it has acquired a majority controlling interest in Sydell Group to expand the NoMad Hotels brand with Hilton leading all development. The NoMad brand will be fully integrated into Hilton’s commercial platforms, including Hilton Honors but all NoMad properties will remain independently owned.
I have stayed in NoMad Las Vegas and visited the NoMad London. They are luxurious and opulent properties with just a little quirkiness thrown in. I think NoMad will be a great addition for Hilton as they try to expand their worldwide luxury brands and recently announced they will add SLH to the brand.
Hilton projects that as many as 100 NoMad properties will be developed globally over time, with approximately 10 already in advanced stages of discussion with Sydell.
“Coupled with our recently announced exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World and our planned acquisition of the Graduate Hotels brand, Hilton is leading the hotel industry with the addition of innovative new luxury and lifestyle offerings that meet changing guest needs and add new opportunities for owners to join our system,” Chris Silcock, president, global brands and commercial services, Hilton said.
NoMad’s flagship property – the NoMad London – will be available for booking to Hilton guests beginning later this year, and an expansion of NoMad is planned to follow.
NoMad Las Vegas is excluded from the transaction and will rebrand to a new flag in the coming months.
NoMad will participate in Hilton Honors. Members who book directly with Hilton have access to all the usual benefits with Hilton Honors.
Biltmore Mayfair to leave Hilton
After the news that the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh will be transitioning to the Curio brand, the Biltmore Hotel Mayfair, which was an LXR hotel, will leave the Hilton brand from 1 May 2024. At this point, we do not know whether it will become independent or join another brand.
The hotel’s website has the announcement and says ” s a result, stays booked past this date will not accrue Honors points.”
It’s shame as that only really leaves the Conrad St James as Hilton’s luxury property for London.
IHG 20% off hotels
IHG Rewards has a new sale for 20% off on stays of 3 nights or more until 31 December 2024 when you book by 18 April 2024. The discount applies to hotels in Maldives, Australasia, Japan, Micronesia, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia including Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Breakfast is also included for up to two people.
The conditions are pretty decent too as only a non-refundable one night deposit is required at the time of booking. You can also change and cancel depending on the hotels own policy.
