Oman Air Oneworld Alliance Delayed Until 2025
It was originally announced in 2022 that Oman Air would join the oneworld Alliance, and it was scheduled for 2024. Seeing as we are currently in November 2024, it is no surprise to hear that this has now been delayed until Q2 2025. Once onboard, this should prove a big benefit for oneworld members as it will provide a larger scope of connecting fares hopefully giving cheaper options and more ways to collect those all important Tier Points.
As of November 2024, Oman Air operates flights to several hubs of oneworld member airlines, including Amman (Royal Jordanian), Colombo (SriLankan Airlines), Doha (Qatar Airways), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Airlines), and London Heathrow (British Airways). Additionally, Oman Air has codeshare agreements with Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines.

Oman are forgoing quite a lot of future bookings with that delay. Many people willing to jump from Emirates, Etihad and Gulf to Oman once OW TPs can be earned.
