How to get a free night & 50% off meals at Accor hotels
I have written before about the relatively new Accor Voyageur scheme, which gives perks such as a 20% discount across 12 Luxury and Premium brands and 15% off at 10 Midscale and Economy brands. That card costs €199.
However, there are other regional variations which may be worth a look if you are planning to travel to a specific area and could make a substantial saving.
There is currently an offer for 25% off the Accor Plus Asia Pacific card from 18 to 31 March 2024. The offer is for new joining Accor Plus members only.
There are two levels of membership:
-
Traveller – $169
$225per year -
Explorer – $221
$295per year (or 12,000 per year all – accor live limitless reward points)
The Explorer membership offers a free night as well as the standard perks.
What perks do you get?
- Up to 50% off your meal bill
- 25% off – one member
- 50% off – one member with a guest
- 33% off – one member with two guests
- 25% off – one member with three guests
- 15% off your drinks bill in Asia
- Bonus of 20 Status Nights
- Valid for Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
You obviously need to compare the benefits of the worldwide Voyageur with its 20% discount to the free night and 50% off dining. For example, I am heading to French Polynesia, where the free night and dining discount could be worth more than a flat 20% since we are likely to be eating in the hotel.
The free night has some exceptions, where it is not available or there is a minimum number of nights. You can see the exceptions here. There is also a limited number available, so you can’t guarantee that once you have membership, it will be available for your dates. Finally, it is only for the base room category, but you can usually pay to upgrade. There are also some hotels where the dining benefit is not available.
All the major brands are included in the discounts, such as Banyan Tree, Sofitel Legend, Fairmont, SO/Sofitel, Sofitel, MGallery, Art Series, Mondrian, Pullman, Swissôtel and Angsana.
IHG New bonus
IHG has a new bonus of 2000 points for every two nights you stay until the end of May 2024. You must register before 31 March 2024 and before you stay at a hotel. However, existing booked stays count as long as you register for the promotion. Each two nights do not need to be at the same hotel or concurrent.
You can find more details and the link to register on the offer page here.

Under the IHG 2k pts promotion, if you book rooms using cash and points does that qualify for the pts bonus?
Some people have had follow up email to IHG promotion adding additional 4k every 4 nights (so 8k in total with these two offers) – it’s automatically added apparently so doesn’t show in app as the enhanced promo, but the T&Cs in the email say will just get the extra points. Bit confusing – but better than the original promo. This may be targeted.
Yes I just saw that in my inbox too.
