Qatar to serve Caviar in business class
Just when you think Qatar can’t widen the gap between itself and most other business class offerings, it goes and ups its game again. This week, Qatar Airways announced further enhancements to its business class service with the introduction of caviar service on its menu offering.
The irony is that BA doesn’t even serve caviar in its first class, whereas Qatar will now serve it on 13 routes in business class from 15 August!
The new service will start initially on Qatar Airways business class between Doha and Boston, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, and Washington. The press release says “starting” with 13 routes, so hopefully this means there will be more.
I already think Qatar do a great job with their catering with all the extra touches such as the choices of olive oil to go with bread, the candles and the amuse bouche. They also offer on demand dining so you can choose when to eat. Qatar has already been offering lobster on premium routes such as London in business class, but caviar is one step even further.
The new caviar service can be enjoyed as a standalone option or as part of the onboard meal courses.
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Product Development and Design, Ms. Xia Cai, said: “As the world’s only 11-time winner of the Skytrax ‘World’s Best Business Class’ award, Qatar Airways takes pride in providing the best premium business class travel experience. The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience. We are committed to continuously enhance our onboard services to elevate the industry’s standards and delight our passengers.”
