£1299pp – QM2 Cunard transatlantic crossing & NYC break
There’s a decent deal for a one-way sailing aboard the QM2 with New York accommodation and flights back home from £1299 per person. The deal is available through Travelzoo which is a travel deal website that has been around for many years. You have to sign up for the mailing list to get the deal, but it is free.
The package includes:
- A 7-night transatlantic sailing aboard Queen Mary 2, in an Interior Stateroom
- Three nights at The New Yorker, A Wyndham Hotel, in a Standard Room
- Entrance tickets to the Empire State Building 89th Floor Observatory
- A direct flight between London Heathrow and JFK, with 23kg checked luggage
It’s only an extra £199 per person to stay in a Balcony Stateroom.
The drawbacks with the deal are that The New Yorker is definitely not a luxury hotel, and reviews are mixed getting 4/5 on TripAdvisor. You also don’t know who the flights are with (in economy), but I am sure when you call to book or enquire you could ask at the same time. One way flights are generally more expensive than a return which is why the package cost is quite high.
You can find the deal page here.
However, I would also compare direct with Cunard prices that just include the cruise as prices for Christmas cruises for just the cruise start from £599 per person for an inside stateroom. This may be a better option if you would consider using Avios to get there or back, for example.
Aer Lingus increase Manchester-New York capacity with swap to A330
Aer Lingus, which has increased capacity on its daily Manchester to New York services, by operating on an Airbus A330 for the first time, increasing available seats on each flight.
Don’t forget you can use your BA Amex Companion voucher on Aer Lingus, which this could be a good use for if you live close to Manchester.
Replacing the A321LR with a larger twin-aisled Airbus A330s enables the airline to redeploy their A321LR aircraft onto its transatlantic routes from Dublin, including to Hartford, which launched last month, as well as Dublin to Cleveland, which takes off in May.
Previously, the A321LR offered 184 daily departing seats from Manchester to JFK, but from today, that number will rise to 317 – 71% more seats available in Economy, (up by 119 to 287) – and an 88% increase in fully lie-flat Business Class seats (up by 14 to 30).
The A330 has very similar seats to the A321LR but in an alternating 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 configuration instead of 2-2 and 1-1 on the A321LR.

Rosewood hotels booked through our partners GTC get the following benefits on the special offer:

British Airways Club Europe Lanzarote deal from £362
As I am sure TLFL readers are aware, the prices of some Club Europe flights have been astronomical in the past year. Had I been in 2019, I would not have been writing about this deal as this would have only been slightly below the normal price. However, in 2023 where average Club Europe flights are often £500+ for the longer 160 tier point routes, this is a decent deal.
Prices start from £362, and I can see availability from the end of November onwards.
Remember, this could be a great opportunity to get 320 tier points by turning it into a holiday. You can do this by adding a car or hotel for a minimum of 5 nights for the double tier point offer. The offer only runs until 31 December so you must stay by then.
