Turkish start date for Melbourne
After a few false starts, Turkish Airlines has now confirmed a start date and schedule for its flights to Australia.
The flag carrier will schedule three flights a week to Melbourne, its 346th destination in 130 countries, starting from 15 March 2024. With the flights via Singapore, Turkish Airlines will also have the distinction of being the only European airline to operate flights to Melbourne Airport currently. Turkish Airlines are part of Star Alliance.
There are special offers on economy seats from Istanbul, but the prices from Heathrow seem extremely high at the moment, between £6-7,000, hopefully, this may come down a bit as the fares do not seem to be fully loaded.
Here is the schedule:

I saw a price of $9400 Australian dollars, ONE WAY, Turkey to Melbourne .
Just as well they dont have the planes, because they wont get the passengers!
The price seems extremely cheap when you take into account you have written the start date of their Australian operations as 15th March 12024 😃
