Oneworld new Manchester and Stansted routes
Royal Jordanian has announced a new route from Manchester to Amman starting on 6 March. This will get you 160 tier points return in business class.
If you have never been to Jordan, it is definitely worth a visit to see Petra and the Dead sea. It does border Israel but not anywhere near the Gaza Strip where the troubles are, but obviously, you may want to wait if that concerns you. You can also connect on to Asia and many other destinations. There can be some good deals on business class tickets, but you need to check what you are getting carefully as often there will be short-haul configured aircraft even on longer flights. Flights operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays.
There is also a new flight from Stansted which starts on 3 March. This will operate Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Virgin Red has teamed up with Virgin Hotels Dallas to offer members the chance to stay at the hotel using Virgin Points, instead of cash. Members can treat themselves and a guest to a stay at Virgin Hotels Dallas in a Chamber King room for 25,000 points for one night, 47,500 points for two nights or 67,500 points for three nights. The offer will be available for bookings made between 11 December 2023 – 31 December 2024 for stays from 1 January 2024 – 31 December 2024. It’s not the best use of points in comparison to an Upper Class flight, but unlike those, you don’t have to pay lots of cash on top in charges.
Situated in the Design District, Virgin Hotels Dallas is complete with a 24-hour gym, rooftop pool and Commons Club bar. Guests can enjoy a coffee from the hotel’s Funny Library Coffee Shop and a dip in The Pool Club Rooftop Lounge.
Only Virgin Red members can redeem the offer via the app or website. Once redeemed, members will receive a promo code to use when booking directly with Virgin Hotels Dallas – and it’s free to join Virgin Red.
