Virgin Flying Club Ends Partnership with Singapore Airlines
Virgin Atlantic has announced that its partnership with Singapore Airlines will officially end on 23rd April.
Cash Flights
You can no longer earn Virgin Points or Tier Points on Singapore Airlines flights on or after 23rd April 2025, even if you have already booked.
If your flight is before the deadline, you will still earn Virgin Points and Tier Points as long as your Flying Club number is added to your booking. You can also claim the points earned up to six months after the departure date.
Redemption Flights
Redemption flights after 23rd April will still be honoured. You can still use Virgin Points to book new reward flights if the departure date is on or before 23rd April 2025.
If the departure date is on and after the 24th April 2025, then you can’t change Award tickets. However, you can cancel for a refund of points – plus taxes and surcharges.
An End to Member Benefits
From 24th April, Virgin Flying Club members will lose access to elite benefits. Gold benefits currently include lounge access, priority boarding, priority baggage, 23kg extra baggage allowance, and business class check-in.
The Impact
This impact will be minimal for most people. Singapore Airlines has already massively reduced redemptions in premium cabins. However, if you have previously enjoyed the benefits of Flying Club Gold when flying with Singapore Airlines, this change will have a big impact.
You can still enjoy benefits when flying with SkyTeam member airlines and Virgin’s remaining airline partners. You can read more about this in our guide to earning Virgin points.
For full details, read Virgin Atlantic’s official statement on the termination of the partnership.
Royal Caribbean 10,000 Avios Bonus
You can currently collect 3 Avios per £1 spent on Balcony and Suite bookings with Royal Caribbean cruises.
Until 16th February, you’ll receive a bonus of 10,000 Avios when you book a balcony cabin or deluxe stateroom for six nights or more.
Royal Caribbean offers a huge range of itineraries in Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, and Asia. Throughout 2025 and 2026, there are sailings from Southampton to Norway, Spain, France, Portugal, the Canary Islands, and Miami.
How to Collect Avios with Royal Caribbean
Once you’ve chosen your cruise, enter your British Airways Executive Club number at checkout.
You will be credited with 3 Avios per £1 spent, plus a bonus of 10,000 Avios, for cruises of 6 nights or more booked before 16th February 2025.
Things to Note
- Your Avios will be credited to your British Airways account 28 days after your cruise has ended.
- You can opt to credit your Avios to Iberia Plus, AerClub, or Vueling instead.
- Avios will be awarded based on the total cruise fare of your cruise-only booking, including taxes and fees. All other charges, e.g. flights, hotels, transfers, gratuities, or onboard purchases such as drink packages, Shore Excursions, and Casinos, do not qualify for Avios.
- The maximum number of Avios Royal Caribbean can award for a single cruise booking is 100,000.
20% Off Clubrooms Lounge Access – Valentine’s Special Offer
Clubrooms are running a 20% off offer when you book before midnight on 14th February for travel until 1st April 2025.
The offer applies to Clubrooms lounges at Gatwick North, Gatwick South, and Birmingham.
Simply enter the discount code VALENTINESCR25 at checkout when booking directly with No1Lounges.com.
This is an ideal gift if you’re travelling around Valentine’s Day. Clubroom lounges are designed for a more premium experience, with children 12+ only permitted. You can enjoy made-to-order dishes from an à la carte menu. You can read the sample menu for Birmingham Clubrooms here.
Clubrooms is the most premium lounge in the No.1 Lounges network, which also includes Club Aspire, My Lounge, and No.1 Lounges.
Here are the lowest prices available and the opening times:
Lounge | Prices Start from | With Discount | Opening Hours |
---|---|---|---|
Clubrooms Birmingham | £44 | £35.20 | 04:00 – 20:15 |
Clubrooms Gatwick North | £42 | £33.60 | 6:00 – 18:00 |
Clubrooms Gatwick South | £42 | £33.60 | 06:00- 20:00 |
Although this is a good offer, if you visit lounges often, it’s worth comparing one-off lounge visits with membership options. Plenty of credit cards and bank accounts provide free or discounted lounge access, and buying a lounge pass could also work out cheaper.
For example:
- Priority Pass Standard membership costs £69 per year, with lounge entry priced at £24 per visit.
- DragonPass (£68 per year) includes one free lounge visit, with additional visits costing £24 each.
