Which flights will I get the double Avios on?
Double Avios is awarded on the first ten Qualifying Flights that are flown post registering and booking. The order of booking does not determine the order in which Qualifying Flights are awarded.
What’s a Qualifying Flight?
A Qualifying Flight is a single leg of a journey that departs from one location and lands in another, e.g. Edinburgh to London.
They can be booked as a one-way, return, multi-trip booking or as part of a holiday, where each individual leg counts towards the maximum of ten flights.
In terms of which airlines, you can fly:
- Any flight with a BA prefix on any selling class or cabin on any BA operated service (excluding Reward Flights or upgrades using Avios)
- Any flight included as part of a Qualifying Holiday
- Any flight with a BA prefix on a transatlantic flight operated by British Airways (BA), American Airlines (AA), Iberia (IB) or Finnair (AY) between Europe and North America.
- Any domestic flights within the UK, on SUN-AIR, Euroflyer or CityFlyer.
Any other flights operated by any other BA franchises, codeshare partners or oneworld alliance members will not qualify.
Collecting Double Avios on BA Holidays
Double Avios on Qualifying Holidays is calculated as two Avios for every £1 spent on the total cost of a Qualifying Holiday (instead of the usual one Avios for every £1 spent). A Qualifying Holiday is any combination of a Flight + Hotel, Flight + Car, or Flight + Hotel + Car booking made on ba.com where the flight element of the booking must originate in the UK. Adding a hotel or car to a flight after booking does not count.
The base Avios will be awarded up to six weeks after completion, and the bonus Avios will be awarded up to eight weeks after completion.
You can find the offer page on ba.com here.

I suspect that many are unaware of the now reduced Avios on flights.
So will assume that this will be double the Avios earned last winter!
Too late! I have already booked flights over Christmas and New Year as I guess many others have done.
I can’t believe I have only just booked two flights
Michele do you know if this offer will apply to paid seats booked on a RFS redemption? Got a long-haul coming up but want to pre-book (expensive) seats as it’s old-style CW, thanks.
That’s a good question. I will try and find the answer for you. I’d hope yes but I will see if I can confirm it.
