Amazing business class flash sale
Etihad seems to have taken over where Qatar left off, with some of the best business class prices we have seen in years. It is a shame that they are not part of a major alliance, but hopefully, that may come in the future. You can credit to a range of airlines such as AA and Malaysia Airlines but not BA. Etihad does have a good business class product, though, with all seats having aisle access and the newest seats being suites.
The Flash Deal sale ends on 7 August, and you can travel from 1 September – 31 March 2025. These prices also illustrate the savings to be had by starting outside the UK. For example, Paris to Bali is £1687 for the cheapest price on Etihad in the next six months. From the UK, my search is showing £3898 for the same period.

10% off British Airways with American Express
There’s a new American Express offer for 10% off BA flight purchases up to a total of £100. At the moment it does not seem to be showing on all cards. It is on some but not all Platinum and Gold cards. However, I often find it can take a day or so to appear for everyone. Otherwise, it is sometimes worth contacting American Express to see if they can add the offer for you.
The offer is valid for BA flights departing from the UK only for any amount booked and charged to your account by 11 September 2o24. There is no minimum spend and you can use it multiple times.

Although not part of an alliance you can cash out points by getting a credit card loaded with money! Did this recently after a return flight left me with a stash of points but not enough for anything.
Can’t remember the point to cash conversion rate. I guess it is not outstanding but remains a handy way to make sure points don’t disappear into the orphanage!
That’s a great suggestion!
Whoops, above applies to EY (Etihad) part of article!
I’m seeing Dublin to Colombo for £957 in October via lastminute.com
That’s a great price although personally i try to book direct with the airline in case anything goes wrong.
Waiting for the BA offer though I do see a spend 1500 get 250 back for Virgin Atlantic by 26/08
Sadly no ~£1k bargains to Thailand anymore 🙁
Waiting for BAs next sale. Missed out on last one. Can anyone tell me I am looking to go to Jamaica at Christmas and am trying to get to gold on Tier. BA offer double tiers when booking holiday and flight together. Do any other partner do the same?
