Reward Flight Finder 30% Off Sale
Reward Flight Finder has a sale running from today, Monday 4th November to Sunday 10th November with 30% off new sign-ups and upgrades.
New members will receive 30% off Silver and Gold annual memberships.
Monthly memberships receive 30% off the first three months for Silver and Gold packages and there is a 30% discount for current Bronze or Silver members who upgrade their membership.
The best savings are the annual packages so if you plan to travel in the near future, I would suggest signing up for this and setting as many alerts as you need.
I have managed to upgrade from Business to First class using these alerts from London to Johannesburg. Availability popped up just a week before we travelled and had I not had the alert, I would have missed out on the opportunity to fly such a long route in First.
Sale Prices:
-
30% off Silver Annual – £27.99
-
30% off Gold Annual – £48.99
-
30% off Silver Monthly for the first 3 months – £2.79
-
30% off Gold Monthly for the first 3 months – £4.89
It’s coming into a busy time to book travel, so it is definitely worth being on top of availability for next year, and Reward Flight Finder is an easy way to do this in one place.

UK Government Increases Air Passenger Duty
The UK’s version of passenger tax is Air Passenger Duty (APD) and if it wasn’t already the highest in the world, it just got even more expensive, especially if you are flying in business and first class.
We already knew that the taxes were due to increase in April, but it feels like a bigger blow to have confirmed further increases for the next two years. Below we’ve included a chart that shows the increases due to each band which is worked out on distance from the UK. To clarify for people that may not be aware, these taxes are only for people travelling from the UK, not people connecting through the UK.
Destination Band | Distance from London | APD Rate
(April 2025) |
APD Rate
(April 2026) |
APD Rate
April 2027 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Domestic | Within UK | £14 | £14 | £16 |
Band A | 0 to 2,000 miles | £26 | £28 | £32 |
Band B | 2,001 to 5,500 miles | £191 | £216 | £244 |
Band C | Over 5,500 miles | £200 | £224 | £253 |
As most of our readers are aware, one of the best ways to avoid paying high APD is flying ex-EU and this will be even more important to people now. We will continue to be here to offer tips and tricks to help our readers fly the most economical way and to look for great fares for you.
We can also only hope that Airline fares are going to come down again closer to pre-covid levels. It is something we have all been eagerly anticipating for a while now and I would say we have vaguely seen a trend of slightly lower fares creeping in. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Having just flown from AMS via Helsinki to BKK the saving can be considerable for couples and still ok for Avios and status by using Finnair.
Unfortunately have to book BA holiday from UK to get double status points but will be us back at Gold in January February after our follow on trip so APD is a bearable one off expense.
One issue that may/maynot be on horizon is EU talking about multiple trips in one year (to get status) with be taxed at a progressive rate 100€ first trip, 250€ 2nd trip, over 500€ 3rd trip per year…..but fingers crossed airlines get that crushed quickly or they will suffer most….French politician even said a person should only be allowed to fly 4 times in a LIFETIME!!!!…next be wanting horse and cart back too!
