Virgin Atlantic has officially opened its brand new Clubhouse at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today!
Virgin Clubhouse lounges are regarded as some of the best in the world. They feature fantastic menus, well-stocked bars, comfy seating, and nice work areas.
This is the sixth lounge in the growing Virgin Clubhouse portfolio, joining the lounges at Heathrow, New York JFK, San Francisco International, Dulles International, and Tambo International (Johannesburg). The lounge takes over the space of the former Etihad Lounge.
The Virgin LAX lounge puts a fresh spin on the pre-flight experience with an LA-inspired focus on wellness, design, and indulgence.
The lounge is located on the 6th floor of the Tom Bradley International Terminal and is now open daily from 11:30 am PDT. You can visit the lounge up to 3 hours before your flight’s departure.
Corneel Koster, Chief Customer & Operating Officer, Virgin Atlantic, commented;
“We’re bringing the Clubhouse experience to the West Coast with new spaces and surprises that are unique to Los Angeles. Everything about the Clubhouse at LAX is intentionally designed and pays homage to both our British roots and local Los Angeles tastes. LA is a global hub for wellness, and this new Clubhouse caters uniquely to that mindset in a way that only Virgin Atlantic can. Who else has a Zen Den and Alan Cumming reading a bedtime story in The Royal Box? It is so us to add a little fun and flair, our awesome team can’t wait to pamper our LA guests before they cross the Atlantic in style.”

Who Can Access the LAX Clubhouse?

The Virgin Clubhouse lounges have a complicated access policy. Even if you have SkyTeam status, you do not automatically get access if you are travelling on a SkyTeam airline.
Here’s who can enter:
- Virgin Atlantic Upper-Class passengers (+1 guest flying Virgin or Delta)
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members (+1 guest on an international Virgin/Delta flight)
- Delta One customers on an international Delta flight
- SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying internationally on Virgin Atlantic or Delta (+1 guest)
- Connecting passengers must be travelling same-day on the same ticket
The Lounge Will Have a Big Focus on Wellness
With three overnight flights to London Heathrow departing daily, the lounge has been carefully designed to help you relax, reset your body clock, and arrive in the UK well-rested. The design includes LA-inspired sunset mood lighting and transitional tones.
The lounge is complimented by exclusive wellness partnerships with:
-
Flamingo Estate: Luxurious, all-natural shower and body products, including rosemary shampoo, clary sage body wash, and tulsi conditioner, all made from regenerative ingredients sourced from over 125 farms.
-
ORME: Guided wellness and movement sessions via smart fitness mirrors in the Zen Den, with guided meditations, stretches, and mindfulness practices, are introduced by a personal message from Sir Richard Branson.
-
TRIP: Virgin’s existing onboard partner. Calming, non-alcoholic drinks infused with botanicals and adaptogens to bring wellness to the lounge!
The Space
The lounge is small and has views, but Virgin Clubhouses are without the chaotic atmosphere and in a league of their own! It has signature Virgin Atlantic touches, including a large bar, social area and table service.
The Ruby Room and ‘The Royal Box’

The Ruby Room brings a bit of Hollywood into the lounge, complete with a cinema area and Bluetooth headphones. Merchandise is also available to purchase here.
There’s even a ‘Royal Box,’ a more exclusive space with ambient lighting and even a secret menu.

The Wing

The Wing is perfect for getting work done. It’s a light-filled area with acoustically sealed pods named after music studios like The Manor and Sunset Sound. There are also casual coworking corners, plenty of plugs, and strong Wi-Fi.
The Zen Den

The Zen Den is an immersive wellness space powered by FORME Studio’s smart fitness mirror. It offers guided sessions across three calming categories: Mind, Body, and Spirit. The experience begins with a personalised welcome from Sir Richard Branson, setting the tone for a uniquely Virgin-style approach to pre-flight well-being.
You can also enjoy a shower here, which features Flamingo Estate’s Garden Essentials collection.
Dining in the LAX Clubhouse Lounge
Table service is available at every seat, and the menu leans into fresh, wholesome Californian fare. Think tuna poke bowls, tofu pho, California fig salads, and Mediterranean quinoa.

Special thought has also been put into young flyers:

There’s also a self-serve brasserie with healthy nibbles like kale salad, raw veggies and trail mix.

Drinks-wise, there’s a strong showing for the health-conscious. TRIP Mindful Blend, infused with ashwagandha, lion’s mane and magnesium, is designed to promote sleep and relaxation.

For something a little stronger, the in-house mixologist has crafted the Twisted Angel – a cocktail inspired by the city featuring Aperol and gin.

A Pre-Flight Bedtime Story
To celebrate the opening of the lounge, Alan Cumming has lent his voice to the Clubhouse’s first-ever original bedtime story. Titled “ReLAX and Unwind with Alan Cumming,”. Its aim is to help you relax into a dreamlike state as you prepare for your transatlantic journey!
Alan Cumming said:
“I travel between the US and the UK all the time, and I honestly adore a long-haul flight. It’s one of the few times I have just for myself and so I treat it like a spa day in the skies! I have a rule that I am not allowed to say no to anything I am offered (within reason of course- treachery is always a no!), so from the pre-flight champagne onwards everything is welcomed with open arms. And as the lights dim and I change into my PJs and fluff my pillows, I actually enjoy it more than bedtime at home,” said Cumming. “So I feel honoured and agog at the idea of lending my voice to a story that will soothe and delight passengers as they’re sipping a cocktail or a cuppa, tucking themselves in and being lulled to dreamland in the skies on Virgin Atlantic flights going all over the world. See you in the Clubhouse. Mine’s a vodka martini!”
