Virgin from Manchester to Boston
Last year Virgin Atlantic announced that it would be operating some new summer routes from Manchester in 2017. They have a direct service from Manchester to Boston until 28 October 2017 which will fly twice weekly. Virgin are also operating three times weekly to San Francisco from Manchester.
There are some bargain prices on Upper Class flights from Manchester to Boston from £1000 for most of the summer months. They are operating an A330 on the route which although not as good as the B787 seats, is still an excellent product for £1000.
I flew with them last summer from Heathrow and was really impressed with them in comparison with BA. The food was presented beautifully, there was a choice of on board cocktails and the staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. The seats have aisle access and were comfortable with good bedding. I would prefer not to have to stand up to convert the seat into a bed but it’s a minor point.
One disadvantage is that there is no Clubhouse lounge at Manchester but you can use The Escape Lounge instead.
Boston makes a great short break as well as being the closest airport for Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket. You could also connect onto many East Coast destinations in the US and Canada.
The details are as follows:
MAN-BOS

BOS-MAN

You can see more about the upper class experience in this video.
The sale page is here. You can credit miles from Virgin to their own Flying Club or to Delta who are part of Skyteam, Malaysian who are oneworld or Singapore Airlines who are Star Alliance. This makes them very versatile.
Delta Airlines
You may not have considered Delta Airlines before but they do have a decent flat bed seat on the B757-200 out of Glasgow. The drawback is that it is in a 2-2 configuration which is not so good if travelling solo.
